Whether your preference in accommodations is traditional or modern, the resorts and historic inns of the Pinehurst / Sandhills area fit the bill.  No matter what you are looking for - from the eloquence of the finest hotel to a golf villa overlooking a fairway to a simple motel room, it's available here.

While the Pinehurst Resort complex, featuring The Carolina Hotel boasts the most national acclaim, it is only a part of the elegant mystique that permeates the area.  Southern Pines is just as rich as Pinehurst in tradition with golf resorts such as Mid Pines and Pine Needles, both designed by Donald Ross in the 1920's.

The entire area has a "retro" feel and many golfers feel that they are "stepping back in time" when they visit the area.  A perfect example is the legendary Pinecrest Inn, once owned and operated by Donald Ross.  The Barrett family operates the facility now, but walk through those doors and you can feel the presence of the original owner.  The same Donald Ross who designed the No. 2 golf course.  Ross proved early on that not only could he build great golf courses, but that he could also design a decent gentleman's drink.  With modern regional upscale dining, and all of the history - literally on the walls, the total Pinecrest experience is world famous, but be careful as you arrive as guests frequently chip golf balls into the fireplace in the main foyer.  The old inns of Pinehurst, including the Holly Inn, The Manor Inn and The Magnolia Inn are as steeped in atmosphere and nostalgia as The Carolina Hotel.

In 1991, famed golf course architect Rees Jones linked his name forever with the great golf of the North Carolina Sandhills when he debuted Talamore Golf Club. Since receiving the designation as Best New Course in the South by Golf Digest, Talamore has been consistently ranked at the forefront for outstanding courses in the Pinehurst area. Talamore’s clubhouse, pool and cabana are all conveniently located next to the Talamore Golf Villas which were constructed shortly after the club’s opening. The Talamore Golf Villas have long been a favorite among golfers vacationing to the area for their wonderful amenities and panoramic views of the Resort Course’s signature finishing hole.

The second facility added to the Talamore Golf Resort was The Mid South Club, originally known as Pinehurst Plantation. A private club, Mid South features a fantastic layout designed by “The King” Arnold Palmer. In 2005, the Lodges at Mid South opened, offering the most well-appointed amenities in the Sandhills and giving the Resort over 200 rooms of luxurious and comfortable accommodations, most featuring expansive golf course views.

"One Trip and You Become Family"

The Talamore Golf Resort has grown to be the premier golf vacation in the Sandhills. Over 90% of our customers repeat or refer new business - that is unheard of in the resort industry and is a tribute to Talamore’s unwavering commitment to the total customer experience.

Several hotels in the area such as The Homewood Suites by Hilton, The Residence Inn by Marriott, Springhill Suites by Marriott, The Hampton Inn & Suites, The Best Western Pinehurst and The Comfort Inn and other standard hotel brands are concentrated on US 1 and 15/501.  All have golf packages with the local courses and many have golf co-ordinators to make your planning simple.

There are also number villas and condos on and off golf course properties that give you all the conveniences of home and plenty of room for any size golf group.

The Peak seasons are spring and Fall, of course, but more and more golfers are learning that year-round golf in the Pinehurst / Sandhills area is a super experience!  Some even prefer the summer months when the courses are less crowded and the costs are drastically reduced for green fees and accommodations.
