Sea Pines Resort-Harbour Town

Every year, PGA pros take to the fairway of famed Harbour Town Golf Links to vie for the champion’s tartan jacket at the MCI Heritage. Ranked as the #1 course in South Carolina by Golf Magazine, this is the most sought after course to play on Hilton Head Island. Designed by Pete Dye in consultation with Jack Nicklaus, Harbour Town Golf Links is reminiscent of Scottish course of olde. Measuring 6,973 yards from the Heritage tees with a slope of 146, the par-71 course is deceptively short by today's standards and requires perfectly positioned shots, arrow-straight accuracy and unwavering consistency on the part of the player.

Good scoring depends on finesse and shotmaking rather than strength. Well-placed tee shots and approaches are requisites for good scoring, and the well-protected greens are among the smallest of any tournament course in the country. Harbour Town’s set of par-3s ranks among the finest in the world, and its par-4 18th hole is one of the most feared in all of golf, particularly when the wind is blowing off Calibogue Sound.

One of Pete Dye’s crowning achievements as a golf course designer, Harbour Town is an innovative masterpiece and a favorite among PGA TOUR pros. Dye returned to oversee a complete restoration of Harbour Town Golf Links in 2000.
