Island West Golf Club
This facility is a collaboration by architect Clyde Johnston and popular Tour star Fuzzy Zoeller, a former U.S. Open and Masters champion. Their goal was to make the course as "fun" as possible. Consequently, it lacks the punishing design features that too many developers believe is necessary to have a "championship" course. Johnston and Zoeller have created a course that provides a good game of golf for all players. The back markers provide 6803 yards of challenge that's well-deserving of its slope rating (129). This is a scenic layout that winds through tree-lined fairways out into areas dominated by natural marshland.
