Bald Mountain
Bald Mountain, the original course, was built in 1968. It was named for the rock-faced cliffs towering over the course. Bald Mountain offers a true challenge in a lovely setting. Popular with players of all abilities, its beautiful conditions received high marks from Golf Digest readers. The course layout presents a particular emphasis on hitting it straight off the tee. The 17th hole might be the most difficult on the course. A solid 423 yards from the tips, the problem with this par 4 is the stream that bisects the fairway at about 100 yards from the green. There's also water short left and right, plus a couple of bunkers in front of the shallow green.
